At the dawn of this century, the spirituality of St. Francis flowered in another young man. His name was Paulus Moritz. Paulus born in Germany of Jewish parents embraced the Catholic Faith while a student at the University of Bonn. In 1895, he came to India as a missionary and worked for nearly five decades in several parts of Northern India. Like his mentor Saint Francis of Assisi, Brother Paulus Moritz set out to build the Church, to call people to follow Jesus. In 1901 the Congregation of the Missionary Brothers of Saint Francis of Assisi (CMSF), popularly known as Franciscan Missionary Brothers, was founded. Today in India alone, the Congregation has over 500 Brothers and work in more than 80 Centres.
The Franciscan Missionary Brothers work in different parts of the world, for the establishment of God’s Kingdom. They are Missionaries committed to God in the service of His people, Educators who bring the light of learning and Agents of integral development. They are Witnesses of God’s Kingdom of Justice, Peace and Reconciliation. The Lord calls you too, to come and join the Congregation of the Missionary Brothers of Saint Francis of Assisi (CMSF); to say “Yes” to His invitation to build the Church.
